Headmaster Schultz

Peter Schultz has served as Headmaster of St. John Academy since July 2005. His distinguished career in the field of education began in 1992 as a high school Social Studies teacher in the state of New York where he taught in the Delhi Central and East Syracuse school districts. He then served as an Assistant Principal at New York’s Camden High School for three years. In 2002 he accepted his first principal position at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk CSD outside of Albany, NY. In 2004 he was named Grade 7-12 Principal at Ogdensburg Free Academy in New York, where he worked for a year before accepting the Headmaster position at St. John’s.

Headmaster Schultz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Education from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, and a Masters in Education from the State University of New York at Cortland. In 1999, he completed a Masters in Educational Administration at the State University of New York at Oswego. He currently holds a Teaching Certificate, School Administrator and Supervisor Certificate, and School District Administrator Certificate from New York. He also holds a PostGraduate Professional License from Virginia in Administration and Supervision PreK-12 and in History and Social Science.

Headmaster Schultz teaches Religion to the 7th graders and coaches the boys basketball team at St. John’s. Mr. Schultz has five young children, three of whom attend St. John’s. In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, playing golf, and participating in a variety of other outdoor activities.
