Why do we have PVP?
PVP has been established in an effort to:
- provide services and support to enrich our educational programs for our children;
- ensure these responsibilities are uniformly distributed and shared among the school families;
- offer families opportunities to enrich their interactions with other school parents, their children’s teachers and friends.

How are PVP jobs assigned?
Positions are assigned on a first-come, first served basis. To increase the likelihood of getting your first choice, you should e-mail the required forms or drop them off in the PTO mailbox at the beginning of the school year. You can e-mail the forms to PVP Chairperson Nancy Wilson. We will make every effort to give you the position you prefer. The PVP Committee must approve positions not listed in the program before families can receive PVP credit for their volunteer work. PVP job assignments will be posted continually on the PTO Web site and the PTO bulletin board outside the front door of school.

Can I find an PVP job that completes my full 12-hour requirement?
Yes. Many jobs—including room parent, fundraising and various coordinators--fulfill the entire 12-hour requirement. If you choose a 12-hour position, you do not have to record your PVP hours each month for that position. However, you should record additional volunteer hours that you perform each month.

-
Can I donate my time on an hourly basis?
Yes. Many activities and events are looking for hourly help. You should contact the appropriate coordinator to offer your help as soon as you send in your PVP forms at the beginning of the school year. Committee chairs and coordinators are listed on the PTO Web site and bulletin board. If the chairperson position is vacant, contact a member of the PVP Committee for instructions on how to proceed. All hourly positions require that you report each month – via e-mail or in a note to the school – the hours that you’ve worked that month. PVP regularly updates its records to track how many hours each family has contributed. Please help us keep accurate records of your participation, which ensures you receive the proper credit for all you do.
